The governing body of SCIFI, chaired by the Director, IIM Lucknow comprises of eminent members from leading government institutions and industry leaders. Besides IIM Lucknow and SIDBI, it has members from DFID (UK), IIT Kanpur, National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI), Department of Posts (GoI), FinUno Technologies India Pvt. Ltd. and SCIFI Team.
Dr. Ajit Prasad is Director of the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow. As also Professor of Economics and Strategy. An alumnus of St. Stephens College, the Delhi School of Economics and International Management Institute, he has had rich experience in the Government, Industry and Academia. His past industry experience relates to organizations including the State Bank of India, Planning Commission (Government of India), Steel Authority of India, and the UN/ESCAP at Bangkok. His past academic experience relates to teaching at Delhi University and Management Development Institute, Gurgaon. He has been a visiting faculty at the IIMs, S P Jain, IIFT, MICA and other leading business schools. Has been a consultant to several private, public and government organizations including the Bureau of Industrial Costs and Prices, GOI; the Public Enterprises Selection Board; KRIBHCO; Hindustan Zinc Limited; Larsen & Toubro; Indian Oil Corporation, etc. He is on the Academic Governing board of Milano Politechnique, Milan, Italy. In 2010, he was appointed as Independent Director on the board of Power Finance Corporation. He is also on the Board of IIIT, as also MoFP, Institute of Food and Catering Technology, Sonepat.
Dr. Alok Pande has a Doctorate from IIM Bengaluru and is a graduate in Engineering from NIT Allahabad. He qualified for the Indian Postal Service in 1994 through the Civil Services Exam of 1993. He worked in New Delhi and Vadodra in various capacities in the field and in the Headquarters. In 2011 he joined the Ministry of Finance(MoF), Government of India as Director. In the MoF he was instrumental in the planning and rollout of Prime Minister Jan Dhan Yojana which is the largest Financial Inclusion initiative in the world. Dr. Pande presently works as Deputy Director General in the Department of Posts. He has represented the country in many International fora including the United Nations and G20. He has won many awards including the National Stock Exchange’s award for the best thesis in Financial Economics. Author of several academic papers, two of his works have been published in the prestigious Journal of Financial Markets and Journal of Corporate Finance.
Prof. Amit Agrahari is a faculty of information systems at IIM Lucknow. He is a fellow of XLRI, Jamshedpur and pursued his graduation in statistics. Before joining IIM Lucknow, he worked with Infosys Technologies Ltd., where he was leading research on process innovation and optimization. Prof Amit specializes in the “Procure – to – Pay” process. He is also a co-founder of South Asia’s first public procurement observatory established in 2013. He has been a consultant to The World Bank Group, Indian Army Weapon Equipment Directorate, Indian Army Service Corps, Department of Post, Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, Mumbai Rail Vikas Corporation, Pradeshik Cooperative Dairy Federation, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, Ministry of New and Renewable energy, Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited etc. He also offers an International Training Program on the World Bank’s New Procurement Framework which drew participants from countries such as Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Georgia, Myanmar, Rwanda and India. In collaboration with the Kelley School of Business, Indiana University, he has developed training programs on Business Analytics and FinTech.
Prof. Anirban Chakraborty is a Faculty of IIM Lucknow in the Marketing domain. He has Ph.D. equivalent in Marketing (FPM) from IIM-Bangalore with prior five years of industry experience. An acclaimed teacher and known academic in marketing domain, Dr. Chakraborty has so far presented his research at a number of reputed institutions in India and abroad as well. Dr. Chakraborty has so far served as resource person and trainer to multiple executive education programs conducted by IIM-Lucknow for long time.
Prof. B.V. Phani is a Professor of Finance, Innovation & Entrepreneurship in Department of Industrial Management & Engineering (DIME) at IIT Kanpur. Prof. P is a mechanical engineer with a PhD in finance with MIS as a minor from IIM Calcutta. Prior to pursuing a PhD at IIM Calcutta, he held various managerial positions concluding with an assignment as CEO of BCIT Limited a computer education and services startup company. He is also the recipient of various teaching and research awards from national and international foundations. he has been instrumental in taking IIT Kanpur’s IP initiative efforts to the next level by facilitating the patenting of a few hundred patents in the last few years from IP generated as part of the institute’s research effort. He has helped widen the platform for start-up prospective entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs to convert their innovative ideas into commercially viable products. He grew up with Finacle® (at Infosys) for two decades+, from its inception to global leadership across six continents, 84 countries touching the lives of 800+ million consumers. He was also a member of the Executive council of Infosys. He is on the global board of ISPMA (Germany) a not-for-profit global community of Software Product Management leaders & thinkers. He received Distinguished Alumni Award of Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIMB) in 2016. He speaks at global forums and he also partnered with global industry bodies like EFMA(Europe) and BAI (USA) in promoting innovation in the banking and fintech space. Mr. Manoj Mittal, Deputy Managing Director, a Whole Time Director with Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), has over 25 years of experience in development banking. He has been a strong votary of “Credit Plus” approach for the development of the MSME (Micro Small & Medium Enterprises) sector. His keen interest in the MSME sector has been the driving force in implementation of various MSME Development Programmes launched in collaboration with different stakeholders, including multilateral and bilateral institutions.
Mr. Navneet Kumar has nearly two decades of experience across Payment Systems, Financial Technologies and Banking sector, during which he has contributed to solutions around Biometric Smartcards & Business Correspondent Delivery Solutions, Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS), Aadhaar Enabled Payment Systems (AEPS), Government Benefits Payment Delivery, Financial Inclusion Gateways (FIGs), etc, which has given him good grasp on the various financial service delivery model. Before NPCI, he was associated with FINO Paytech Ltd as Vice President & Head – Technology, ICICI Bank – Alternate Channels and Venture Infotek – Products.
Prof. Sanjeev Kapoor holds Ph.D in Rural Banking and Agriculture Economics and currently is a Professor at the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow. He is a co-founder of SIDBI Centre for Innovations in Financial Inclusion (SCIFI). He has conducted a large number of training programs for bankers on behalf of SIDBI, NABARD, HDFC bank, IDBI bank, and Axis Bank, Mumbai. Currently, he is working on Agri-business Management, Micro-finance, Financial Inclusion and Agri-value Chain Finance.
Capt. Ritu Dubey: Supporting start-ups as her profession and a desire to create social impact as her passion, Ritu Dubey joined as CEO- SCIFI at IIM Lucknow after nearly 7 years of leadership experience in technology business incubation at IT-UPVAN, the first state run incubator in Uttar Pradesh under Department of IT & Electronics (established under UP- IT& Startup Policy 2014) and prior to that at JSS Academy of Technical Education-STEP, Noida. Earlier she served as a Short Service Commission Officer in the Indian Army and had a brief corporate stint as Regional HR Manager at Future Generali India. She holds a PG Diploma in Management with specialization in Finance and HR from IMT- Ghaziabad. A native of Lucknow, she is keen to contribute towards building of entrepreneurial ecosystem in the state.
